[CRIMSON] 8/14/10 ~ Fujimoto nabs movie role!

In what may be one of the more significant stories for Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON this year, Masakazu Fujimoto has landed a starring role in a upcoming thriller titled "Darker than Abyss". Masakazu Fujimoto had recently backed off from acting to concentrate on his Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON career after the filming of LOVE SCRAMBLE's second season which aired earlier this year. Fujimoto had shown resentment over being “typecast” after LOVE SCRAMBLE as the “lovable lug” but leaped at the opportunity given to him for Darker than Abyss.

Directed by American-Japanese director Robert Takahashi, Darker than Abyss profiles the escape of a famed hyper criminal from incarceration and his thirty six hours of torment unleashed on the unsuspecting Japanese public. Masakazu Fujimoto has been cast in the lead role as the arch villain himself, Shigeki Kamiya. A former underworld criminal, when the movie begins; Kamiya has been sentenced to death for multiple cold blooded murders. Kamiya uses cunning and violence to stage an escape. What ensues following Kamiya's escape is described as a "hyper violent reign of terror" as Kamiya exacts his "revenge" on Japanese society.

This marks the first time Fujimoto has received a starring role and his second role in a major motion picture.

As of right now, Darker than Abyss is only scheduled for Japanese theatrical release, but director Robert Takahashi has already began implementing preliminary international distribution plans. Filming begins later this month in August. Filming is expected to wrap up in late November or Early December.

As would be expected, Masakazu Fujimoto will be taking an absence from Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON for filming. In his place, CRIMSON will bring back the "Texas Outlaw" Jake Bishop to a full time roster position in Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON.
