The over 1,000 fans that gathered at the Yamagata Welfate Vacation Center witnessed in the main event of tonight’s POWER SOURCE tournament night, one of the biggest upsets thus far in the tournament, as Keiji Hirano downed the leader of NGI, Nobuyori Shimizu! Shimizu came in heavily bandaged, but fought valiantly against the BLACKHEART’s Hirano…However, unlike Izumo Yoritomo, Hirano had no issues of targeting Shimizu’s arm throughout the match, earning rousing responses from the crowd and calls of support for Shimizu…The NGI leader fought with everything he had, but he never seemed to be able to get anything going, as Hirano would simply hit him on his right arm to stop him from fighting…Shimizu tried to fire off one of his strong elbow shots…But uses his injured arm! Hirano caught the arm, and turned Shimizu into a Wakigatame and pulled violently upwards on every part of Shimizu’s right arm! Shimizu screamed in pain, and tried to fight to the ropes, but Hirano responded by leaning further onto Shimizu’s back and keeping him from reaching the ropes! With no where else to go, Shimizu was forced to submit giving Keiji Hirano arguably the biggest victory of his entire career! Backstage, Keiji Hirano met with his superior Akuma Toyota, and told his captain that he had started the downfall of Shimizu tonight, and told Toyota that on the 10th, he needed to “finish it”…Shimizu gave no comments and was rushed out of the building for medical aid…
Kenjiro Amagawa attempted to score the biggest singles victory of his young career in the semi final of the night, as he took on the second of NGI, Toshiro Noguchi…Amagawa used his ring abilities to keep the match methodic, and controlled the pace…However, Toshiro Noguchi proved to be just as good at that as Amagawa, before he eventually caught him with the Thunder Hammer for the three count…Noguchi didn’t give a comment post match, as he quickly showered and then went back to ringside of Shimizu’s match…However, Amagawa said that every day he was honing his skillset, and planned to “explode” when it all came together…
Seiji Ebisawa had little difficulty defeating Eisaku Shimura in the fourth tournament match of the night. Shimura’s strength was a hinderence but nothing that Ebisawa didn’t deftly avoid before spiking the “tank” on his head with an Exploder for the three count.
Death came for one young Mikio Tsuruya, as he took on an extremely motivated Izumo Yoritomo in singles competition. Tsuruya tried his best, but nothing he could do affected Yoritomo in the slightest, before the massive former sumo grabbed Tsuruya and SPIKED him with a gigantic Nodowa-otoshi for the three count and two points.
Keiji Hirano and Akuma Toyota waged war in their inter-BLACKHEART’s match…the same cannot be said for Biship & Kuriyama’s match…The two circled early and teased locking up…However, after one minute of this, Kuriyama suddenly left the ring and walked to the back, giving Bishop the count out victory! The enraged fans booed heavily at this cowardly move…backstage, Kuriyama revealed that he knew he had no chance in the tournament…but had decided to throw the match to help Bishop make it…and to just be a dick, more or less.
Young Shuji Kawashima never met anything in the track & field world like he did in the first tournament match of the night against Akuma Toyota. In an absolute brutal display of power and savagery, Toyota tossed Kawashima around and hit him so hard that Kawashima’s lip was split open before nearly decapitating him with a Lariat for the three count. Backstage during Toyota's comments, there was apparently an altercation
between Akuma Toyota and Pro-Wrestling FURY's ORIGIN who had come to
watch the event, but no details on what exactly took place are known.
During a short intermission, the fans in Yamagata were greeted by the first appearance of Tatsumichi Akamatsu in almost a month, as the BLACKHEART’s leader and the C-1 Heavyweight Champion came out for a speech…Akamatsu restated the BLACKHEART goal of a “all Black finals” and said that even if such a thing didn’t happen, he would make sure to crush the winner of the tournament…However, surprisingly, Akamatsu called CRIMSON President Kazushi Mimura into the ring…Mimura came into the ring obviously worried…Akamatsu paid no time for small talk…before DEMANDING that Kazushi Mimura allow Stephen Priest to face him for the C-1 Heavyweight Championship! Mimura seemed shocked at this announcement and refused…However, Akamatsu played his trump card. He stated that if Mimura didn’t make the match, then Akamatsu would go to another promotion and have it, with or without Mimura’s approval! Mimura looked abashed at this demand…but after a few tense moments of thinking…AGREED, and scheduled it for the 24th in Miyako for the POWER SOURCE finals! Akamatsu actually thanked Mimura for his “wise decision” and prepared to leave…but Mimura had one more thing to say…that since he didn’t want to sign off on this match, he wanted to make sure it would be the “final encounter” between them…as such…Mimura announced that it will be a NO RULES DEATHMATCH. No rules. Any weapons imaginable, and Mimura coldly said he didn’t care if Akamatsu and Priest killed each other in the ring or not, before leaving for once with a backbone!
