Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON returned to Fukushima for the fifth night of the 2009 Power Source tournament. Despite a disappointing attendance, the fans that attended were rewarded with an important night of action. In the opening match the LOVE+YANKIZOKU team of Tenshin Komatsu and C-1 Junior-Heavyweight Champion Keoni Murata teamed up to take out the challenger to Murata's C-1 Jr. title Akahito Yamada, and Ikuji Royama in tag action. Murata whacked Yamada with his signature Surfboard, setting Yamada up for the Komatsu Knee Kick from Komatsu for the fall. After the match, Komatsu promised to finish Toyota at the Kyocera Dome with one of his signature Knee Kicks just like he had with Yamada tonight, while Murata said that experience and "cunning tactics" could beat anyone in the Junior's saying Yamada would just be another example following Saigo and Royama!
Tenshin Komatsu's opponent on 5/31, C-1 Heavyweight Champion Akuma Toyota was surprisingly not on the winning side today, as he teamed with AVENIR's Hiroshi Kuroki and Sojiro Sayuki in a losing effort to the Yankizoku team of Ryoma Inoue, BIG BOY Tomizaki, and Ichiyo Tatsuko. While none of the Yankizoku team could offer any challenge to Toyota, they did manage to squeak out the win. Ryoma Inoue fired off a volley of suplexes on Kuroki, setting him up for the Back*Beat for the three count. After the match, Inoue announced that he was tired of being ignored in the Junior Division, and was tired of hearing everyone talk about PREDATORS and Sayuki as "rising stars", before announcing a "Yankizoku Junior Explosion" lead by Keoni Murata and himself starting today!
The streak for Yankizoku continued in the first Power Source tournament match of the night, as the biggest upset of the tournament thus far took place. One half of the C-1 Tag Team Champions Hiroyuki Takano took on Nobuyori Shimizu in a high level battle between the two former NGI Members. Shimizu, with his rock solid basics and his heart faced off against the overall mastery of pro-wrestling of Hiroyuki Takano. In the end, skill beat out heart, as Takano blasted Shimizu with the Takano Flash, and after a near fall with the Takano Driver, he hit a release variation before employing his beautiful Moonsault Press to score the two points! Takano dismissed his former leader in NGI, telling him that the AT CLUB had far out grown them in strength, and he would prove it to Shimizu by winning the Power Source himself...
Power beget Power in the second tournament match of the night, as C-2 Openweight Champion Masakazu Fujimoto took on the other member of the AT CLUB and Yankizoku leader Takayuki Ariwa in a violent, violent match. Neither man held back anything from the other with both men's chest turning bright red from the abuse. Fujimoto held the advantage in that Ariwa could not seem to lift the massive champion, while Fujimoto had no such restraints causing Ariwa for once to be on the defensive. Fujimoto looked to have the match won, as he attempted to hit an Avalanche Mt. Fujimoto Bomb on Ariwa, but the two engaged in a violent struggle leading to Ariwa freeing himself with elbows to the face. Ariwa then dropped to the ground behind Fujimoto and proceeded to give him a VICIOUS Angelos to the back! To make his point even clearer, Ariwa pulled Fujimoto's head back towards him before lariating RIGHT to his neck! Fujimoto slumped forward, and Ariwa seized him. A murmur went through the crowd as Ariwa turned his back to Fujimoto's back, and pulled Fujimoto's arms backwards. The murmurs turned to outright disbelief as Ariwa pulled the massive 300 pound Fujimoto in the SPLASH MOUNTAIN POSITION! Ariwa gained full extension, pressing Fujimoto over his head in an awe inspiring feat of strength! Ariwa took several steps, before exploding forward and HURLING Fujimoto with a release Splash Mountain! Fujimoto landed in a heap on the ground, having possibly never been thrown like that before, allowing Ariwa to cover and gain the uncontested three count! Ariwa began screaming at Fujimoto to "lose weight" as he kicked him out of the ring, nearly causing a riot with the STRONGEST CRIMSON ARMY.
The STRONGEST CRIMSON ARMY took on the TEXAS ROUGHRIDERS as two men with no love lost faced off. Former two time C-1 Tag Team Champion Toshiro Noguchi took on the strongest gaijin in Japan, "Texas Outlaw" Jake Bishop the leader of the TEXAS ROUGHRIDERS. The storyline of the match was simple. Bishop's "Texan Bomber" versus Noguchi's "Thunder Hammer" with both being almost exactly the same move. Much of the match was spent with the two men attempting to land their signature moves, but the other, being a master of the move himself would be able to dodge it. As the match progressed, Bishop wore down Noguchi with power moves and simple brutality like face kicks. However, Noguchi refused to go down easily staying in the fight against all odds. However, after Bishop applied his Texas Claw Hold, followed by a Gutwrench Powerbomb, the battle looked all but lost as Bishop sized up Noguchi for the Texan Bomber. Bishop charged, but Noguchi suddenly ducked under, grabbing Bishop's arm, and used Bishop's own momentum to roll him over into a pinning hold for the flash three count victory! Bishop threw a tantrum post match, but no amount of screaming could erase the two points Noguchi had been awarded.
Stage Three of the Backdrop Brothers three took place in the main event, as Yankizoku looked to make it a clean sweep tonight. Mikio Tsuruya took on Kenjiro Amagawa, with rampant wildness and interference. Tsuruya spent the early portion of the match doing his very best to avoid engaging Amagawa, and using lower level Yankizoku wrestlers to try and trip Amagawa up. Eventually due to AVENIR's influence of evening up the outside presence, the two were forced to fight. Tsuruya attacked as he always does, trying to maim Amagawa more than win, using ropes, illegal objects, and even his own wrist tape to try and take Amagawa out. However, Amagawa fought on trying to take down his hated enemy, and looked to have the match wrapped up with his Ankle Hold Backdrop Hold. However, they were too close to the ropes, allowing BIG BOY Tomizaki to reach in and sweep Amagawa's leg behind the referee's back. AVENIR swarmed Yankizoku in anger causing the referee's attention to be diverted. Amagawa looked to finish Tsuruya, but Keoni Murata suddenly charged into the ring swinging his Surfboard like a maniac. Amagawa, having lost this way before, noticed Murata and ducked causing Murata to bounce the surfboard off the top rope causing it to ricochet into his own head, knocking himself out! Tsuruya was attempting to recover, but Amagawa pounced. Amagawa looked for another Backdrop Hold, but Tsuruya suddenly displayed startling athletic ability as he FLIPPED BEHIND Amagawa! Amagawa was caught completely off guard, as Tsuruya grabbed Amagawa high and CRUSHED him on his neck with the Akuji Backdrop Driver! Tsuruya wasn't done, as he lifted Amagawa and hit a SECOND. A third wasn't enough for him either. Finally after the FOURTH Backdrop Driver in a row, Tsuruya covered giving him the relatively clean three count over his rival! Post match, Tsuruya mocked Amagawa, asking him why Amagawa was so perplexed at his agility. Tsuruya then remarked sarcastically that it's because he's got flab and Amagawa never thought he trained hard. Tsuruya leaned over Amagawa and told him to stop underestimating his abilities, or else Amagawa would never catch up with him...
