The sixth day of the 2009 Power Source tournament began at the Isuzu Motors Yamato Gymnasium with an eight man tag contest, as the team of Akahito Yamada, Ikuji Royama, Hiroshi Kuroki and Sojiro Sayuki took on the Yankizoku team of C-1 Junior-Heavyweight Champion Keoni Murata, Ryoma Inoue, BIG BOY Tomizaki and Ichiyo Tatsuko. Despite his promise of a Yankizoku junior revival, Yankizoku were on the losing side, with Ikuji Royama using his FLARE UP on Ichiyo Tatsuko for the three count. More jockeying took place after the match, with Murata and Yamada getting into an argument, but the big surprise was BIG BOY Tomizaki suddenly cracking Ikuji Royama over the head with his bamboo sword out of the blue, before CHALLENGING Royama to face him in singles competition! Tomizaki called him the "troubleshooter" of Yankizoku to laughter, before saying that he would take out Royama before he even got a chance to avenge his loss to Murata. Royama, without question, accepted the brash challenge from Tomizaki.
Following that match, the Tournament itself kicked into gear, as Block B held the first match. Hayato Saigo and Shuji Kawashima squared off for the all important two points. The match was based around the speed of both men, with Kawashima keeping up with the intense athletic abilities of Saigo throughout the match. However, his downfall was his lack of ability to actually keep up with Saigo in terms of wrestling ability, leading to Saigo planting him on his head with a Brainbuster, followed by a Moonsault Press for the three count. Saigo praised Kawashima after the match, but warned him not to rely on his speed too much and instead spend more time on trying to become a better overall pro-wrestler...
Block D took center stage, with two men searching for their first tournament victory. Kazuhiro Okamura of LOVE and the nationally famous ShinoMura team took on Yankizoku's Keiji Hirano. The match and back and forth, with Hirano trying to match Okamura in skill only to find out that Okamura's basic wrestling ability were far above his own. By the time Hirano switched to using his speed and agility, too much damage had been acuminated, leading to Okamura catching him with the KO Cutter for Okamura's first victory of the tournament.
Naoki Daishi's quest to prove technique could defeat size ran into another roadblock, as he took on the second most technical wrestler in the block, Shinsuke Takahashi. For many fans, the match was a throwback to a simpler time, as the two tackled each other with honest integrity with holds, counters, and reversals. Very little striking, if any was used, as the two looked to beat the other with pure wrestling ability, however, Takahashi's natural size advantage began to play a part late in the match, as Daishi struggled to hold onto submission maneuvers that would have submitted a smaller and/or less intelligent wrestler. In the end, the two stalemated, with neither man being able to defeat the other causing a thirty minute time limit draw! Daishi was exhausted, saying that three draws had sapped him of all his strength, but praised the "technical genius" of Takahashi as something special that he needs to harness...
The final tournament match of then night pitted Ryo Suzuki graduate Shino Hiriyama against Pro-Wrestling FURY's Tetsuhisa NAKAI, seconded by Ryuugo Nagashima. The storyline of the match was simple, with the Jr. Hiriyama trying to use speed and quickness to avoid NAKAI's massive power attacks. However, as with all situations, Hiriyama could only keep up with that tactic for so long before he began to visibly tire, allowing NAKAI to work his brutal magic leading to a massive Lariat right to Hiriyama's face for the pinfall victory.
LOVE + Yankizoku took on the STRONGEST CRIMSON ARMY in the main event, as Tenshin Komatsu and the C-1 Tag Team Champions the AT CLUB took on the C-1 Heavyweight Champion Akuma Toyota, Nobuyori Shimizu and Toshiro Noguchi in a hot six man contest. No love lost between any of the six men, causing a chaotic scene in and all around the ring. However, it would be Tenshin Komatsu's time to shine, as he blasted an unaware Toshiro Noguchi with his new Shikaeshi Knee attack for the flash three count fall! The AT CLUB instructed their former sempai's of Shimizu and Noguchi to forfeit their remaining matches and save themselves the humiliation of losing, while Komatsu once again proudly claimed he would "shock the world" at the Kyocera Dome. Akuma Toyota was livid hurling abuse to anyone who would listen about Komatsu managing to sneak one by him, but promised that at the Kyocera Dome on 5.31, he would give Komatsu a "lifetime of pain" in just one night...
