The C-1 Tag Team Championships were up for grabs at the Miyako City Gymnasium in front of almost 1,500 fans as the C-1 Tag Team Champions from Rouzeki-GUN of Tenshin Komatsu and Makoto Saito took on the supernova team of Kenjiro Amagawa and Mikio Tsuruya, otherwise known as the Backdrop Brothers in the main event. The match was back and forth, but the sheer strength of the C-1 Tag Champions was a daunting challenge for the challengers to overcome, as both Saito and Komatsu used their simplistic offense to brutalize the two young former amateur wrestling stars. The Backdrop Brothers refused to give in, and at one point Amagawa nearly stole the match away for the Backdrop Brothers with a hellacious spear followed by a Backdrop on Saito, however, the champions couldn’t be denied, and theyfought back as Makoto Saito made clean on his promise from two days ago, as he knocked Amagawa silly with a rolling elbow strike, followed by FOUR Backdrops on one half of the Backdrop Brothers! Saito covered, obviously trying to humiliate the young wrestler, but Amagawa refused to be taken down and kicked out! Saito showed no emotion, and then landed the Silencer on Amagawa for the pinfall victory, giving the Rouzeki-GUN duo their fourth defense of the championships! Komatsu took a microphone and called the tag teams of Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON “boring”, and lacked any challenge…However, before his bragging could go on any longer, the familiar music of “RETROSPECTION” began to play, as Nobuyori Shimizu made an unscheduled appearance! Shimizu looked in fine condition, and had an intense look in his eyes. Komatsu and Shimizu immediately went face to face, before Shimizu stole the microphone, and began to give his own appeal! Shimizu said that he hadn’t forgotten what Komatsu had done to them, turning their “rivalry” into a “war”! He added that he wasn’t ready to wrestle yet, but that when he came back, he would make it his mission along with the rest of N.G.I. to completely destroy Rouzeki-GUN, and that included taking Komatsu and Saito’s C-1 Tag Team Championships! Blows looked like they were about to be exchanged, but Noguchi and Ariwa suddenly sprinted to the ring to back up their injured partner! With the numbers out of their favor, Komatsu and Saito backed off, all the while hurling insults to N.G.I. for future battles!
The 2007 FUSION J-LEAGUE group stages are now over! The tournament matches opened up with the devious Kamikaze Barons from BURNING PARADISE taking on the representative team from Pro-Wrestling HERO of Minoru Nikaido and Wes Climer. The Barons seemed to be taking the match lightly against who they perceived to be a “weak” team, but that proved to be a major mistake as the HERO team fought back, before Nikaido caught Takahashi in the Evangelion! Takahashi fought to the ropes, trying to drag him to the floor with him, obviously for a double ring out…However, Nikaido showed that he had been studying footage of the Barons, as he let go and then immediately reapplied the hold in the center of the ring! Takahashi fought, while Watanabe was held back by Climer, but was forced to submit to the Pro-Wrestling HERO team!
The second tournament match of the night saw the OKINAWA SPEED STARS from Pro-Wrestling FURY take on the Superstar PRO team of Saru Ito and SAKA Ibuchi, with the OKINAWA SPEED STARS’ hopes of advancing on the line! The OKINAWA SPEED STARS blitzed their opponents from the opening bell, using their immense speed to completely overwhelm the Superstar PRO team from the early stages of the match! The Jason Ramsey trained duo attempted to fight back against the incredibly speed and skills on display, but they were completely overwhelmed as the OKINAWA SPEED STARS scored the victory when they needed it the most when Ota hit the Violent Spark on SAKA Ibuchi for the win!
The war between HEROICS and MILLENNIUM STARS continued in the third tournament match, as Millennium S.K. and Ryoma Inoue took on HANZO and MUSASHI Tomizaki in a dominating match. S.K. and Inoue needed a literal perfect storm to advance, and needed this victory to keep any hopes alive, however, HEROICS refused to give up on their pride as they fought back violently, but seemingly in a futile effort as S.K. and Inoue kept pouring more and more offense on their former allies. S.K. seemed ready to put Tomizaki out of the match with the Millennium Driver…Only to have Tomizaki use an inside cradle, getting ANOTHER flash victory knocking S.K. and Inoue out of the tournament! S.K. and Inoue were incensed at losing the match, but there was nothing they could do, as HEROICS once again proved to be a major thorn in the side of the MILLENNIUM STARS!
The final tournament match of the night would determine the top seed of the tournament as FREEDOM’s top team, and the IFS Tag Team Champions of Shino Hiriyama and Kazuhiro Okamura took on arguably the strongest junior team in Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON in Hayato Saigo and Keoni Murata! The match was a pitted back and forth battle between four strong competitors, with none of them willing to give an inch to an enemy. Hayato Saigo and Keoni Murata controlled the early stages of the match using their great team abilities due to being allied together for so long, but eventually, the IFS Tag Team Champions were able to isolate Hayato Saigo and worked him over in their corner for a long stretch of time. Right when it looked the most helpless, Hayato Saigo made a comeback, finally bringing Keoni Murata back into the match! The former C-1 Junior-Heavyweight Champion was a house of fire as he took the battle directly to both Hiriyama and Okamura; however, they eventually overwhelmed him with double team moves. Saigo attempted to save Murata, but was taken out of the match by Hiriyama as Okamura landed the KO Cutter for the victory!
