Following the 3/25 show that was headlined by the memorable match in the main event, several important news items have been released to the public. Tatsumichi Akamatsu immediately gave an interview to the press following his team’s loss, in which Akamatsu surprisingly praised both Shimizu and Noguchi for their victory…but then said that failure was NOT accepted in the BLACKHEARTS. Akamatsu sternly told his captain Akuma Toyota to “avenge himself”, to which Toyota accepted. Toyota’s meekness disappeared when he was asked about Shimizu and Noguchi, as he promised to rip them apart and take back the C-1 Tag Team Championships for the BLACKHEARTS even if it meant challenging multiple times until he was able to do so against “CRIMSON’s Strongest Team”… Akamatsu had a lighter tone, as he looked on the Brightside of his team’s loss, as it would allow him to focus on his upcoming C-1 Heavyweight Championship match against Goro Iijima on the 15th…Akamatsu promised to take out any frustrations he still has then…
The full tally of injuries resulting from the 3/25 main event include Toshiro Noguchi’s cut, which required a heavy amount of stitches to close back up. Shimizu didn’t suffer any specific injuries, but his body was said to be at its “maximum” and had the match not ended, he could have suffered serious injuries. On the flipside, Akamatsu and Toyota came out just fine, other then a sore neck from Toyota after taking Shimizu and Noguchi’s new “Neo Crush” tandem finisher.
The full lineups for the BATTLE FUSION TRIFECTA CUP 2008 were released as promised…The tournament will be split over two days, with the opening round and the second round taking place on day one. The semi-finals and the finals will take place on day two, with the rest of the card made up of the losers from day one. The two teams that are receiving byes to the second round aren’t very surprising, as the top two heel stables of CRIMSON’s MILLENNIUM STARS and FURY’s UPRISER’Z will receive passes to the second round. Both teams feature champions, and are two of the strongest factions in their respective promotions. As was the custom last year, a ticket to the first night will carry over to the second night, so the expectations are for a very good crowd for this special two night event…
