Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON ~ News and Notes ~ 1/21/08

More details were revealed on Sojiro Sayuki's excursion. Originally, Sayuki was going to be sent to Europe, but at the last minute, Naoki Daishi changed his mind. After studying Sayuki's wrestling style, Daishi decided that the main flaw of Sayuki's style, was not knowing the "flow" of a Junior-Heavyweight style match. To remedy this, Daishi sent Sayuki to Mexico, where he will receive a "crash course" in the flow of Junior wrestler. The earliest Sayuki is due back is by July or August.

Kazushi Mimura announced in a small press gathering at the Ryo Suzuki Dojo in Iwate that Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON will be expanding it's roster by four new wrestlers in March to boost the active wrestler number in Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON to 32, with it being 33 if you count Tatsumichi Akamatsu. Mimura explained the thought process that he wanted to see a new crop of faces in CRIMSON to help invigorate the promotion with more spirit. The four new wrestlers will start in March after the current tour has completed. Mimura also explained that the philosophy had changed. Normally new wrestlers are either previously established names, or Ryo Suzuki fresh graduates when their brought into CRIMSON. With this batch, they are all Ryo Suzuki graduates, but with the exception of one person have been wrestling for in excess of three years! Mimura explained that he felt it was needed, so that these new wrestlers wouldn't be "overwhelmed" like some of the previous fresh recruits, and could make a splash immediately in the promotion.

The four new wrestlers are split up into two Heavyweights and two Junior Heavyweights:

Ichiyo Tatsuko [Junior-Heavyweight]
Current Freelancer and former Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON roster member. Tatsuko has recently been filling in holes in the roster, and while he didn't score any points in the C-1 J-League, he put up a good showing. Tatsuko gets a chance to rebuild his career in CRIMSON now with a formal roster spot. A solid worker, Tatsuko has room to improve.

Hiroshi Kuroki [Junior-Heavyweight]
Kuroki is a flashy Junior who graduated from the Ryo Suzuki system in 2004, but never made it to any of the big promotions. Kuroki is a decent wrestler, but one that always gets the fans excited with his flashy entrances with creative entrance attire. Normally he enters the ring wearing a Lion's Mask, and a mane that flows behind him as he runs to the ring.

Eisaku Shimura [Heavyweight]
Shimura has wrestled for PROMO*JAPAN and later it's incarnation as ZION as an opening card wrestler. Shimura never accomplished much, but the experience served him well. A big wrestler, Shimura can take and give out punishment through brutal chops. Unlike Ariwa, Shimura isn't well built, but more like Yoritomo in how his body is built. Not particularly known for being "fast".

and the one wrestler with no previous experience:

Shuji Kawashima [Heavyweight]
A fantastic track and field star in High school, Kawashima suddenly opted to not attend any form of college and was scouted by Ryo Suzuki. Since then, Kawashima has become the prized trainee of the dojo, and Suzuki has spent more time training Kawashima then anyone since Komatsu and Shimizu. Kawashima is incredibly fast, even with his bulked up heavyweight frame, and could match or beat the Junior's of CRIMSON in how quick he moves. He is also the youngest wrestler in CRIMSON at nineteen years of age.
