LOVE and WRESTLING!

In the wake of the announced closure of Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON a wave of confusion has swept the wrestling world. In a breaking news segment on "Go Fight Win!", a thirty minute special on GAORA, former Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON wrestler Masakazu Fujimoto appeared with hosts Yoshiro Takara and Fumio Kawashima. The shock closure of Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON bantered between Fujimoto and the hosts with Fujimoto himself admitting shock at the "snap" closure. Yet, Fujimoto admitted that the "disappearance" of COMPLETIONxDESTINATION had been "worrying" in hindsight...

The hosts questioned Fujimoto on his future which allowed Fujimoto to drop a bombshell. Fujimoto announced that Tokyo Broadcasting System had green lighted the second series of the LOVE SCRAMBLE line. "Ayami Saki" (Sumie Takanohana) will return to fill her previous role, but Fujimoto announced that the new series called "LOVE WRESTLING" would not be a J-Drama, but instead be DRAMATIC WRESTLING! The event will be a twenty six one hour long episode series focused around "Dramatic Pro-Wrestling" with Fujimoto's "Genji Sakuma" filling the new lead role. Each episode will be the top matches from legitimate Pro-Wrestling shows sponsored by TBS under the "LOVE WRESTLING" banner condensed to sixty minutes. Each Pro-Wrestling event will be titled "LOVE and WRESTLING". Fujimoto admitted that he had been put in charge of running the LaW events.

In LOVE SCRAMBLE, Fujimoto played "Genji Sakuma", the lovable yet overweight and nerdy best friend of main character "Ayami Saki". Sakuma watched from the sidelines as Ayami's romantic follies developed. A life-long Pro-Wrestling fan, Genji saved Ayami from attackers in the final episode of LOVE SCRAMBLE using his beloved pro-wrestling techniques to defend Ayami. In the emotional wave that ensued, Genji finally confessed his long withheld feelings for Ayami. To the joy of viewers, Ayami admitted her own feelings uniting the two. LOVE WRESTLING will directly follow LOVE SCRAMBLE several months later. The series will follow "Genji Sakuma" (Masakazu Fujimoto) joining the prestigious "North+West Pro-Wrestling Alliance" as a preliminary wrestler . The series will focus around Genji's trials to advance as a pro-wrestler, and the burgeoning relationship between Genji and Ayami. Now the struggle will feature the challenge to maintain their relationship as Genji's travels will play a significant part of the story, along with the temptations that arise from not only being a pro-wrestler but also by being separated most of the time from each other. Ayami's former boyfriend and Fujimoto's romantic rival, Ryota Wakashiro (played by famous J-Drama star Kenji Ueda) will return. Wakashiro will also enter the N+W PWA in order to prove he is "better" than Genji for Ayami's affections. To further complicate matters, joshi star Reina Takanashi will play herself as the "ace" of the N+W PWA women. Expectedly, Takanashi will provide another "romantic foil” to the story. Ryo Inoue will make his dramatic television debut as the owner of the N+W PWA. Fujimoto described Inoue's character as "eccentric" but would go no further...

The champion of the N+W PWA will be the "Texas Destroyer" more commonly known as pro-wrestler Jake Bishop. Bishop's disappearance from CRIMSON events coincided with Bishop training in Japanese in order to speak key lines during the show. Bishop will play the role of the "super champion" that no Japanese wrestler can surpass. Fujimoto was tight lipped, but suggested that the "series" would be full of both J-Drama and Pro-Wrestling stars in order to give it all an "authentic feel".

The LOVE and WRESTLING events will tie directly into the TV series "LOVE WRESTLING". The fans who attend will be given a full event, but only the "important" moments would be used on the TBS series. A heavy emphasis will be placed on "drama" with in-ring performances and backstage confrontations...

Famous seiyuu Yui Mizuki will provide the opening theme song for LOVE WRESTLING titled "Lovely Delicious Struggle". Fujimoto admitted that he and Bishop had been approached to provide back up vocals and perhaps a routine to accompany the song but both declined. Kenji Ueda will revert to his rock star identity, "UE-DA" to handle the closing theme song titled "The Break".

LOVE and WRESTLING's first event will take place on May 11th and will go weekly thereafter. After six weeks, LOVE WRESTLING will appear on TBS in it's sixty minute format with each event following each week's event. Fujimoto stated that the show will be "50% Pro-Wrestling and 50% Love".

Look for LOVE WRESTLING coming to the Tokyo Broadcasting System this June!
