It was a good night for upcoming championship match challengers at the Matsushima Townsman Gymnasium tonight. In the main event, NGI teamed up to take on the BLACKHEARTS as Nobuyori Shimizu, Toshiro Noguchi, Takayuki Ariwa & Hiroyuki Takano took on Akuma Toyota, “Texas Outlaw” Jake Bishop, Keiji Hirano and Rui Kuriyama in eight man action. Ariwa once again showed off his leveled up skill, as he scored the decisive win for his team after blasting Kuriyama with the Angelos for the pinfall victory. After the match, there were two surprising war of words…the first was between Toyota and Shimizu, as Toyota angrily took a microphone and told Shimizu to not get cocky about how well he’s done this tour…Shimizu replied that they would ride this momentum to the tag title match and begin the end of the BLACKHEARTS! Toyota scoffed, before telling Shimizu that he would BEHEAD him on the 25th before leaving the ring with his army…However, as NGI were leaving, a sudden stare down between NGI members Takayuki Ariwa and Hiroyuki Takano erupted. Ariwa had almost a crazed look in his eyes as he took a microphone, before bluntly telling Takano that on the 25th, they wouldn’t be friends. Ariwa explained that the only way to measure the worth of a man was through battle, and on the 25th, they’d both learn more about each other through pain and bloodshed then they ever could as friends. Takano angrily snatched the microphone away, before asking Ariwa if he honestly thought he was the only one excited to fight on the 25th…Takano then declared that their match would decide who would lead in this “generation struggle” between them, before both clasped hands to a round of applause from the fans.
Likewise for the main event, it was a good night for the C-1 Junior-Heavyweight challenger Hayato Saigo as he scored a direct, and decisive win over champion Akahito Yamada. Saigo teamed with mentor Keoni Murata against the OVERTHROW team of Naoki Daishi and Akahito Yamada in tag action. The match was back and forth, with Yamada nearly scoring his own direct pinfall victory over Saigo with a Straight Jacket Suplex Hold, but Saigo managed to survive. In the end, it was the team work of Murata and Saigo that pulled through, as Murata blasted Yamada from behind with an enzuigiri, which knocked Yamada right into Saigo who scooped up the champion and dumped him on his head with the Brainbuster for the win! After the match, Saigo commented on Yamada’s comments from the 16th when he said that mental strength beats physical strength every time…Saigo agreed, but then said that on the 20th of April, we’d find out who the “Strongest J” of CRIMSON is in both mental and physical strength!
DARK SUMMIT rebounded from their loss on the 18th, as the same two teams met once again in the fourth match of the night. Goro Iijima was able to lead Izumo Yoritomo and Daisuke Yamazaki to victory over Yuki Nomura and the Backdrop Brothers. Yoritomo proved to be the deciding factor, as Yoritomo showed off his sheer size and power as he grabbed Tsuruya by the throat and then BURIED him with a Nodowa-otoshi for the pinfall victory.
