- Aku Toyota’s path towards his challenge against Katsumi Gakusha for the IFS Open-Weight championship continued, as he teamed with Jake Bishop and Jason Taylor to take on Izumo Yoritomo, Keiji Hirano, and Sojiro Sayuki. In the end, Toyota’s strength came through as he lifted the junior-heavyweight Sayuki, ran and then smashed him into the turnbuckle with the Shoukyakuro for the pinfall victory!
- Rouzeki-GUN and the Sekigun clashed again in the second match of the night as C-1 Heavyweight Champion Goro Iijima, the C-1 Tag Team Champions of Tenshin Komatsu & Makoto Saito along with their newest recruit Daisuke Yamazaki take on Yuki Nomura, Kenjiro Amagawa, Mikio Tsuruya and the Kazuma Fujita disciple turned CRIMSON trueborn Rui Kuriyama. In the first encounter between the two newest wrestlers in CRIMSON, it was Kuriyama who fell…but tonight, it was Yamazaki, as he was caught by Mikio Tsuruya who dropped him on his head with the Akuji Backdrop Driver for the win!
- The Kamikaze Barons continue to spread chaos in the tournament, using their strategy of abusing CRIMSON’s tournament rules to their favor…They faced OVERTHROWS’ combination of C-1 Junior-Heavyweight Champion Naoki Daishi and Akahito Yamada in a short, but highly violent affair. Daishi and Yamada seemed to be in no mood for the Baron’s tactics, and took the fight directly to them, brutalizing them from the opening bell…However, their aggression proved to be their downfall as the Barons were able to manipulate them into a slugfest, which ended up in the floor…resulting in ANOTHER double ring out! Backstage, the Barons finally revealed their plans, saying that since CRIMSON’s tournament gave each team a point for double ring outs, that their plan was to purposely get double ring outs against strong teams, and sneak their way into the semi finals! Daishi and Yamada cursed themselves for being foolish, but stated that the Barons were experts at being tricky, and were caught unprepared…
- After drawing and losing in their first two tournament matches, a fire was ignited in the OKINAWA SPEED STARS from Pro-Wrestling FURY as they took on the Pro-Wrestling HERO team of Minoru Nikaido and Wes Climer. Both teams came out flying around the ring, as each team desperately needed the two points that a win would give them. However, HERO’s team was outmatched by the FURY team, as the OKINAWA SPEED STARS used their tag team abilities leading to Ota landing the Violent Spark on Climer for the pinfall victory! Backstage, the OKINAWA SPEED STARS promised to have good showings for the rest of the tournament, while Nikaido and Climer said that they were using this opportunity to improve, but aimed at doing better from here on out…
- HEROICS and the Junior Sekigun clashed in the third tournament of the night as it was HEROICS’ top two of HANZO and MUSASHI Tomizaki against the former C-1 Junior-Heavyweight Champions Hayato Saigo and Keoni Murata. HEROICS exploded early on, with nothing holding them back from gaining the two points they so desperately needed to keep in the running during the tournament. However, the two Junior powers of Hayato Saigo and Keoni Murata were able to weather their opponent’s storm in order to take control back over the match. The inexperience of MUSASHI Tomizaki proved to be the undoing once again for HEROICS, as Hayato Saigo was able to catch his younger opponent, eventually spiking him on his head with the Brainbuster for the pinfall victory and two more points!
The main event saw a battle between two of the most cocky and skilled teams in the entire tournament as FREEDOM’s IFS Tag Champions, Shino Hiriyama and Kazuhiro Okamura took on the MILLENNIUM STARS combination of Millennium S.K. and “Mr. LSD” Ryoma Inoue in a pitched back and forth battle. In the early goings of the match, the two teams seemed to be trying to out-do each other through sheer dickery. At one point, Hiriyama pinned S.K. with one foot…Inoue ran in, and during the confusion, S.K. responded to Hiriyama’s one foot pin by punting him in the groin…then bounced around mocking Hiriyama’s pain. When everything finally settled down into a straight tag team contest, it was a back and forth battle that saw both S.K. and Inoue get the pinfall with the Millennium Driver, and L*D Suplex Hold respectively…However, it was FREEDOM’s top team that once again came out on top, as Okamura stunned Inoue with a kick to the head, which allowed Hiriyama to hit the Picture Perfect German Suplex Hold for the pinfall victory and three points! Hiriyama and Okamura gloated backstaged for some time…but were interrupted as Naoki Daishi and Akahito Yamada crashed the scene. Daishi praised the two, but then said that he hadn’t forgotten their insult on the first tournament day, and that tomorrow night he would gladly get revenge by handing them their first loss of the tournament!
2007 FUSION J-LEAGUE STANDINGS
Three events have now passed, and while the majority of the teams are still in the hunt, some are beginning to lag behind. FREEDOM’s top team of Shino Hiriyama and Kazuhiro Okamura continue to blaze through the tournament group stages after a third victory in a row. Right behind them are OVERTHROW with five points after tonight’s draw with the Kamikaze Barons. Hayato Saigo & Keoni Murata are unbeaten in the tournament with two victories. Forth place is jumbled due to the influence of the Kamikaze Barons. Millennium S.K. and Ryoma Inoue sit at three after a win over Superstar PRO’s Saru Ito & SAKA Ibuchi, a Draw against the Barons, and a loss against Hiriyama & Okamura. Pro-Wrestling FURY’s OKINAWA SPEED STARS are in a similar fate after a draw against the Barons, a loss against Hiriyama & Okamura, and a win against Pro-Wrestling HERO’s Minoru Nikaido and Wes Climer. The cause of all this chaos, BURNING PARADISE’s Kamikaze Barons also have three points, with all their points coming from double ring outs in three back to back matches. Out of all the teams in the tournament, they’ve managed to wrestle the least, and are conserving their energy…Below the jumble; three teams sit at zero points. HEROICS’s HANZO and Musashi Tomizaki have struggled, while Pro-Wrestling HERO’s Minoru Nikaido and Wes Climer have had good showings, but yet to get any points. The same can be said for Saru Ito & SAKA Ibuchi from Superstar PRO, who while they’ve tried hard, have yet to convert their efforts into points. There’s still time for any team left in the tournament to make the finals, but time is beginning to run out…
