It is now confirmed! After his heinous cowardly actions on the 1st, Hiroyuki Takano has been granted his challenge by Nobuyori Shimizu for the C-1 Heavyweight Championship. C-1 Heavyweight Champion Nobuyori Shimizu and Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON President Yuki Nomura announced the news earlier today. An enraged Shimizu proclaimed that on the one year anniversary of his C-1 Heavyweight Championship reign, he would reclaim his stolen championship belt from Takano!Equally enraged at Takano's actions, President Nomura revealed that Hiroyuki Takano would be putting up his Unified Openweight Championship making the contest a title for title battle! After nearly a year of the terrorist actions of KYOURUI 6, Shimizu pledged to rid Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON of the man he helped recruit in 2008, by defeating Hiroyuki Takano to send him packing from Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON!
In addition, in what may be the worst kept secret in modern wrestling history, Yujiro Higuchi returns to invade Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON ten months after his last raid failed to capture the C-1 Heavyweight Championship. This time, he returns with the always popular "Mr. X" to battle HEAVY WAR's new top two of Akuma Toyota and "Texas Outlaw" Jake Bishop. As if the setup wasn't enough of a giveaway, the match is titled "THE THREE YEAR STORY CONTINUES"...
With Shimizu & Takano fighting for the main singles championships, and Akuma Toyota tied up in his own matters there are no clear C-1 Heavyweight Championship contenders. Thus, President Yuki Nomura announced a ONE NIGHT TOURNAMENT to decide who would go on to face the winner of Shimizu/Takano at DUE TIME at Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan! Last year, a one night tournament was held that saw Nobuyori Shimizu fulfill his seven year quest to win the C-1 Heavyweight Championship. Now eight new faces would have the opportunity to do the same.
The first two names announced for the tournament, are the two men who already declared their own battle at the Anniversary. Former AVENIR leader Kenjiro Amagawa will battle the new AVENIR leader Keiji Hirano in the first announced tournament match. The winner will gain an opportunity to go on to fight for the tournament crown, along with all the glory of beating the other man.
Leading up to the Anniversary, CRIMSON will hold small scale shows with no prior lineup announced in Akita, Aomori, Miyagi & Iwate. These are significantly lower scale events then usual and as such held in much smaller venues then per usual. No word was given on why the down scale was taking place, but after several tours of lower then usual gates, it can be assumed it is a cost-cutting measure...
