The final night of the 2009 Power Source tournament group stages invaded Saitama at the Tokorzawa Hall. The opening match was a ten man tag pitting LOVE and Yankizoku once again together as a team against the STRONGEST CRIMSON ARMY and AVENIR team, as Tenshin Komatsu led C-1 Junior-Heavyweight Champion Keoni Murata, Ryoma Inoue, BIG BOY Tomizaki and Ichiyo Tatsuko into battle against C-1 Heavyweight Champion Akuma Toyota, Ikuji Royama, Akahito Yamada, Hiroshi Kuroki and Sojiro Sayuki. The various issues between the ten men were given center stage, as Komatsu and Toyota squared off, to be followed by Royama and Tomizaki, followed by Yamada and Murata, with all three feuds given focus. In the end, Tenshin Komatsu, leading into the biggest night of his career would be the one who would gain the duke, as he nailed Hiroshi Kuroki with his rarely used Sliding Knee Kick for the three count fall. A huge microphone battle erupted post-match, as Yamada demanded to know when Murata would put his championship on the line against him, to which Murata sarcastically replied "sometime next year..." to Murata's annoyance. However, the issue with Komatsu and Toyota was far straight forward, as the two lobbed threats at each other, much like they had the entire tour. Toyota made the comment that he would destroy Komatsu in less than five minutes to Komatsu's great annoyance...
With the opening match out of the way, the Power Source 2009 Tournament began the final group stage matches. The first match pitted STRONGEST CRIMSON ARMY against AVENIR as Nobuyori Shimizu and Kazuki Takagi collided with their tournament dreams on the line. As would be expected, Shimizu controlled the match against Takagi, but to his credit, Takagi seemed to have gotten a burst of confidence after defeating Hiroyuki Takano and refused to go down easily! Shimizu began to throw bombs, dropping Takagi on his head with a German Suplex Hold, and even a running elbow, but Takagi kicked out of both to the shock of the crowd. Shimizu aimed for a second running elbow, but Takagi screamed "SAIKYO~!" catching Shimizu off guard with the same Lariat that defeated Hiroyuki Takano the night before! Takagi hooked both legs, but Shimizu kicked out at 2.9! Takagi pumped his arm in the air, and screamed out "SAIKYO~!" once again. Takagi charged the woundedShimizu, but Shimizu caught Takagi by surprise by charging in with his own Elbow, using Takagi's own momentium against him! Shimizu fell onto Takagi, and was awarded the three count! Shimizu looked stunned at his own near loss, but Shimizu had kind words for Takagi telling him to level up further. Takagi was heartbroken at his loss, but was cheered up when Kenjiro Amagawa helpfully told him that he had his first real finishing move...
With Block C sealed and the positions locked, there was nothing left to fight for except for bragging rights. Such was the mindset of Yankizoku leader Takayuki Ariwa and the TEXAS ROUGHRIDERS member Rui Kuriyama. Ariwa looked to clean sweep, while Kuriyama desperately wanted a win. The two collided into each other like mack trucks, in a battle of power. As with Fujimoto, Kuriyama found himself in an unwinnable situation against Ariwa, and no amount of dirty tactics could save him. Ariwa began to blast Kuriyama in the side of the head with clubbing blows sending sweat flying off Kuriyama...With Kuriyama wounded, Ariwa effortlessly hoisted him onto his arms and squashed him into the ground with the Splash Mountain for the three count in less than six minutes! Ariwa took a microphone post match. Ariwa brought up last year, saying that he had made the semi finals last year in the 2008 Power Source. Ariwa declared that this year, he would win it all, as no man in Pro-Wrestling is his equal!
The first of two final matches in Block D saw Yankizoku's Keiji Hirano fight for pride against the STRONGEST CRIMSON ARMY member Toshiro Noguchi, who looked to ensure his place in the finals. Throughout the tournament, Hirano has attempted his very best to fight his strong opponents but has continually come up short. The match was more of the same, as Hirano tried his best, but Noguchi was one step ahead of him throughout the match. Hirano at one point got a lucky break with a flash Shining Horse attack, but his Moonsault Press was a botch, as Noguchi moved easily out of the way. Noguchi set up for the Thunder Hammer, and as Hirano stood up, Noguchi charged...Only to have Hirano leap into the arm, hook his arm, and roll him over into a flash Crucifix Hold for the three count! Hirano celebrated the victory as if he had won the world championship, while Noguchi looked perplexed at being flash cradled...
The final match of Block D pitted the leader of the TEXAS ROUGHRIDERS, "Texas Outlaw" Jake Bishop against the STRONGEST CRIMSON MEMBER Yoshiaki Matsuda. With Noguchi's loss, the stage was set. If Matsuda won, he and Noguchi would advance, while if Bishop won, he would win Block D and he and Matsuda would advance. There was little to the match beyond sheer brutality, as both men charged straight into each other. Bishop employed clubbing blows to try and wound Matsuda, while Matsuda attempted to use precise strikes to wound and wear down Bishop. Matsuda would get a huge break, as he ducked under a Texan Bomber and caught Bishop with a Uranage. However, when Matsuda attempted to follow up with a Penalty Kick, Bishop evaded and fled to the floor. Matsuda would follow, but it would prove to be a rare mistake for the former Pro-Wrestling DYNAMITE ace. Once outside of the ring, Matsuda was in Bishop's world, as Bishop almost immediately cracked Matsuda with a chair upside the head. Of course, Rui Kuriyama had appeared out of nowhere to distract the referee...Bishop ran Matsuda's head into the post and into the rails until Matsuda was bleeding heavily from his head...Bishop rolled Matsuda back into the ring, and from there began to grind away at Matsuda. Bishop exploited Matsuda's almost concussed state by punching the wound directly and kicking it. For the first time since coming to Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON, Yoshiaki Matsuda looked vulnerable as Bishop continued to attack. The Saitama fans attempted to get behind Matsuda. Matsuda attempted to fight back, but Bishop crushed Matsuda's fight with a decisive edge as he CRUSHED Matsuda with the Texan Bomber, covering for the dominating victory! The Saitama fans were shocked, but Bishop gave them no time to sink it in as he took a microphone. While standing over Matsuda in English, Bishop screamed over the microphone; "Everybody's been afraid of 'ya...BUT YOU AINT NOTHIN' BOY!" Dutifully, Kuriyama translated Bishop's words to Japanese, earning a strong negative reaction that Bishop furthered by flipping the fans off as he left...
Only one match remained in the 2009 Power Source group stages, and it was arguably one of the biggest of the entire tournament. One half of the C-1 Tag Team Champions Hiroyuki Takano faced off against the invader from Pro-Wrestling FURY, Tetsuhisa NAKAI. Despite neither being on the good graces of the Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON fan base, the Saitama crowd rallied behind Hiroyuki Takano due to his affiliated stature. As with all matches that pit Hiroyuki Takano against a stronger opponent, the early portions of the match saw Takano use his speed to evade and dodge, attempting to tire out NAKAI as quickly as he could. However, the plan appeared to fail, as the fearsome FURY invader refused to get tired, and at one point simply walked to the center of the ring and beckoned Takano to attack him. with his tactic failing, Takano employed a new one, using hit and run tactics to try and take out NAKAI. At first, Takano's frantic dropkick attack appeared to simply be an annoyance, but Takano's speed began to add up, causing Takano to get the upper hand over NAKAI! Takano attempted to keep the momentium going, by hitting his Takano Flash kick, only to have NAKAI LARIAT the leg as it came towards him! Takano reeled in pain, but NAKAI followed it up with a vicious knee strike before giving Takano a vicious slam to the ground. From there, the match would be Takano attempting to survive from NAKAI's brutal attacks, but NAKAI always appearing to be ready for Takano to flee at any moment and counter. Takano made sure the match was competitive, as he escaped NAKAI's Devil Eruption near the end of the match, leading to his Takano Flash > Takano Driver combination, however NAKAI would not be put down easily. Takano attempted his Moonsault Press, but NAKAI got the knees up, resulting in a painful landing...With Takano wounded, NAKAI lifted him and hit the Devil Eruption, only to have one half of the AT CLUB kick out! NAKAI aimed to finish Takano with a Lariat, but Takano ducked under, and caught the surprised NAKAI with a flash inside cradle! The crowd counted along but NAKAI kicked out at 2.9! Takano bounced to his feet to continue his speed attack, but NAKAI caught him off guard with a short range lariat. NAKAI lifted Takano, then lariated him back down, and repeated this process several times until Takano appeared to be completely out of it. With Takano stunned, NAKAI lifted Takano, and used his leveled up Devil Eruption, the MAX BULLET, spiking Takano on his head! NAKAI covered, and despite the wishes of the Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON fans, Tetsuhisa NAKAI was given the victory, the two points, and the Block A victory!
Tetsuhisa NAKAI appeared to be annoyed at the Saitama fan's reaction, but he was even more annoyed as NAKAI's celebration was cut off as Nobuyori Shimizu appeared at ring side. Shimizu climbed into the ring with a microphone in hand. Shimizu congratulated NAKAI on advancing, but reminded him that HE had advanced as well! Shimizu showed his courage by standing directly in front of NAKAI, and informed him that he would "Absolutely Positively" not allow NAKAI to win the tournament! NAKAI's patience finally snapped, and he shoved Shimizu to the ground. A near riot took place as NAKAI's second Ryuugo Nagashima climbed into the ring to back NAKAI, while Shimizu was suddenly surrounded by CRIMSON wrestlers, including nearly EVERY single CRIMSON wrestler in the finals! From Yoshiaki Matsuda to Shinsuke Takahashi and even TAKAYUKI ARIWA, all stood united in front of Tetsuhisa NAKAI! NAKAI refused to back down; standing firm in the ring, but at Nagashima's urging pulled away from the potential fight and backed down the aisle to jeers...Shimizu called on all the wrestlers in the final group, saying friend or foe, that they could not allow an outsider to have a chance at the C-1 Heavyweight Championship again! Even those motivated by hatred of each other, and those betrayed by others, all in the ring agreed with the final act being Takayuki Ariwa and Mikio Tsuruya both pledging to stop Tetsuhisa NAKAI...
