While not a fantastic crowd, one thousand seven hundred fans gathered for the first night of the GOLDEN CHANCE Festival and the first round of the Jr. tournament. An introduction of the wrestlers in the tournament opened up the event, with every wrestler having a sash with their name on it. There were fireworks from the get go, as Shino Hiriyama and Kazuhiro Okamura openly mocked the other juniors, leading to the other juniors running them out of the ring...Royama and SLAYER got into an issue after Kuriyama instructed SLAYER to attack Royama out of the blue, but before things could get out of hand, Millennium S.K. intervened causing SLAYER to back off...
After many years away, Daman Nova Novak made a return to Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON. The Canadian wrestler aimed ot make a triumphant return to CRIMSON where he had previously failed to win the C-1 Jr. championship, but Millennium S.K. made his return very disappointing. Novak used a variety of painful holds to tie S.K. in knots, but Novak's reliance on ground work proved to be his weakness, as S.K. nailed him out of the blue with a flying kneel kick to directly set up the Millennium Driver for the three count to send the Canadian back to California in disgrace.
Shino Hiriyama one half of "ShinoMura" with Kazuhiro Okamura took on the "mascot" of Yankizoku Ryoma Inoue in the second tournament match of the night. The two Ryo Suzuki graduates went toe to toe, and Shino Hiriyama appeared to have the advantage over Inoue, but Ryoma Inoue proved to be surprisingly crafty as Inoue suddenly produced a white powder from his tights, and blinded Hiriyama with it leading directly to Inoue hitting Hiriyama with the Back*Beat for the three count!
The same fate would not be given to Shino Hiriyama's partner, as the quieter Kazuhiro Okamura took on Yankizoku's Keiji Hirano. Hirano, who as of late has been in a terrible slump, continued his ill begotten form as Kazuhiro Okamura comfortably sealed the Hokkaido native wit the KO Cutter to advance in the tournament.
The easiest night's work would be given to James Goodwin Promotion's El Halcon, who took on Yankizoku member Ichiyo Tatsuko. The former C-1 Tag Team Champion and HANGUN member made short work of the man who may quite possibly be the weakest CRIMSON roster member of all time, beating Ichiyo Tatsuko with a Moonsault Press to advance.
After fifteen months, Sojiro Sayuki made his return to Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON. Sayuki entered the ring in good form in his green spats looking more tanned then he was before his exodus and with a little more bulk. His opponent, BIG BOY Tomizaki was unimpressed and attacked at the bell. Tomizaki would use heel tactics throughout the match to keep Sayuki on the defensive, but BIG BOY and even his bamboo sword couldn't keep Sayuki down forever, leading to Sayuki spiking Tomizaki on his head with a German Suplex Hold for the three count. After the match, Tomizaki threw a fit, and insisted that Sayuki should be disqualified from the tournament! Tomizaki said that everyone already knew that Sayuki was in fact Kaisen Tiger, and that should eliminate him from the tournament for trying to be two people at once! Sayuki looked utterly confused before he stated that he didn't know what Tomizaki was talking about. As if on cue Kaisen Tiger appeared and climbed into the ring! Tomizaki looked baffled as both Sayuki and Tiger stood in the ring together. Sayuki and Tiger exchanged a pleasant greeting to laughter from the crowd who noticed immediately that this Kaisen Tiger appeared to be about ten to twenty pounds lighter and an inch or two smaller then the last time they saw him...However, this all went over Tomizaki's head who screamed that this was a "conspiracy" by Yuki Nomura and AVENIR and he would get to the bottom of it if it was the last thing he did before storming off...
Two of the most unstoppable Juniors in Pro-Wrestling collided in the final GOLDNE CHANCE tournament of the night, as Yankizoku's Ikuji Royama took on TEXAS ROUGHRIDER's SLAYER. Royama, always having had his own convictions came out alone, while SLAYER was guided by Rui Kuriyama...There was little in the way of subtlety in the match, as SLAYER aimed to use his brute power on Royama, while Royama used cunning and intelligence to slowly chop away at SLAYER with low kicks. Royama's tactics eventually paid off, as SLAYER's legs buckled, allowing Royama to take firm advantage. However, Royama's most powerful moves weren't enough to seal SLAYER including the Sliding Shotei with SLAYER becoming the first person to ever kick out! However, Royama was not to be stopped. Royama decided that if he couldn't pin SLAYER, he would simply destroy him, as he began to punt SLAYER in the face as hard as he could every time SLAYER would try to stand up. Royama grabbed SLAYER's head, and began to viciously knee SLAYER to the side of the head. The monster never stopped trying to fight back, but his movements eventually became slower and slower as the blows rang down. The referee, fearing for SLAYER's safety finally leaped in and stopped Royama's brutal assault giving Ikuji Royama the referee stoppage! Royama called out to Hayato Saigo post match, asking if Saigo had been watching. Royama claimed he had "powered up" since losing to him in February, and that their match tomorrow would be completely different...
Kazuki Takagi received the biggest chance of his career, as it was time for his C-2 Openweight Championship match against "Texas Outlaw" Jake Bishop. AVENIR came out with Takagi, all of them with headbands, Takahashi with a drum, and attempted to lead the crowd in chants of "Takagi" to show their support...To his credit, Takagi looked amped, but it quickly turned into despair as the match began. Takagi found himself unable to hurt Bishop much, if at all. The highlight for Takagi came when he knocked Bishop off his feet with a shoulder tackle. However, it would be short lived as this only served to enrage the Texan, who nailed Takagi with the Texan Bomber shortly after for the crushing victory. AVENIR consoled Takagi post match, with Takahashi telling Takagi that he just had to train harder. The idea of more training was greeted by Takagi crying like a baby in the middle of the ring with Takahashi patting him on the shoulder telling him to let it all out...
Naoki Daishi leading into his C-1 Junior-Heavyweight Championship match had told Murata many times over that Murata was no longer in his league. This was clearly in evidence for the actual match. Keoni Murata attempted to hang with Naoki Daishi, but found he was severely lacking in all facets of the game, with his own saving grace being his athletic abilities. Murata's biggest moment of the match was a dive through the ropes onto Daish. However, Daishi easily controlled the rest of the match, and looked to have the match sealed with his Northern Lights Bomb, when Yankizoku hit the ring area. Akahito Yamada wasn't far behind to try and keep them at bay, but in the confusion Ichiyo Tatsuko slid Murata his surfboard. Just like Murata did with Saigo, when Daishi turned around Murata bashed him over the head with the surfboard and covered for the upset three count! A obviously exhausted Murata explained to Daishi's unconscious body that while Daishi was right and he did have the edge in every aspect...Murata was still far more clever, and in the end, being clever can be all you need! Akahito Yamada swore that he would win the GOLDEN CHANCE tournament and would avenge Daishi, but Murata sarcastically told Yamada to "keep dreaming" because he'd never win the tournament!
The AT CLUB aimed to make their second defense of the Tag championships they won in January against the two men who had been their mentors in Neo Generation Idealists, as Takayuki Ariwa and Hiroyuki Takano took on Nobuyori Shimizu and Toshiro Noguchi. The AT CLUB knew their target from the opening bell, as they went right for Shimizu's shoulder, neck, and head area fully intending to try and reinjure Shimizu. However, Shimizu refused to go down so easily and constantly fought back leading to a comeback from the founders of Neo Generation. The match fully broke down in the final stages with Ariwa and Noguchi pairing off while Shimizu and Takano were locked in a death fight on the outside. Takayuki Ariwa once again proved that he's come so very far since the days of being Noguchi and Shimizu's youngling, as he blasted Noguchi with several short lariats and then the Angelos before finishing off his former sempai with the Splash Mountain for the three count fall! Ariwa dismissed Shimizu and Noguchi, telling them that they were the "past" while he was the "present" of Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON. However, Ariwa's gloat session was interrupted as Shinsuke Takahashi once again appeared and attempted to arrange a tag title match for himself and Amagawa, but was once again rejected by the AT CLUB. This time, Takahashi didn't take rejection well and declared that he would make them defend their tag championships against them soon...
