Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON ~ 11/21/07 ~ News and Notes

DUE TIME, Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON's biggest show of the year is beginning to come together, as President Kazushi Mimura announced during a small press gathering in a lobby in downtown Iwate City. As announced on the 20th, the three big C-1 Championships are up for grabs as Keoni Murata makes another attempt at recapturing the Junior championship against Naoki Daishi. BLACKHEARTS get their first big title opportunity as "Supreme Commander" Tatsumichi Akamatsu returns to CRIMSON to lead his "Captain" Akuma Toyota for the C-1 Tag Team Championships against the unstoppable "Demon Breed" of Tenshin Komatsu and Makoto Saito. In the main event, the eternal rivalry reaches another point as Yuki Nomura goes for his third reign as C-1 Heavyweight Champion against Goro Iijima in a two out of three falls match!

The other big news was that in December, Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON will hold the "Winter SOLTICE Cup". It will be a single elimination tournament, with four quarter final matches held throughout the four show tour. The semi finalists will then compete at DUE TIME to crown the first ever tournament champion. Mimura stated that the winner of the tournament wouldn't get a championship, or even a championship shot, but that the winner would get 1 million yen, a significant sum of money! Mimura said that he had dipped into his own personal finances to fund this, but said that he wanted to give the eight competitors something to fight for. Mimura called this the "Tournament season" as in late January, a Junior tournament will be held, but for now, that the Winter SOLTICE Cup was the main focus.

The eight wrestlers in the tournament are:

Hayato Saigo
DRAGON Takagi
Royama the Brave
Daisuke Yamazaki
Takayuki Ariwa
Kenjiro Amagawa
Keiji Hirano
Izumo Yoritomo

Mimura gave basic reasoning for the eight personally picked stars...Mimura called Saigo the "Tournament King" having won two tournaments already this year so it was only natural to include him. He said that Royama and Takagi needed a goal, so they were included to give them something to fight for...Daisuke Yamazaki is being given the shot because there was no one else in Rouzeki-GUN who could do the tournament... Takayuki Ariwa has grown exponentially this year, and needs just a little bit more growth to become a star. Amagawa has stalled in his development, so hopefully this tournament will be catalyst for his change. Keiji Hirano betrayed CRIMSON, but pinned Nobuyori Shimizu, so Mimura was required to put him in...but Izumo Yoritomo has personally asked for a match with Hirano, so Mimura hopes the sumo will knock Hirano out of the tournament by pairing them in the first round! After the quarterfinals, the semi-finals will be decided at random to create an unpredictable environment for the wrestlers!
