Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON ~ 7/18/07 ~ News and Notes

Kazushi Mimura, the president of Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON held what may be the largest press conference in CRIMSON history at the base of Mt. Iwate, the tallest mountain of the entire prefecture. Mimura announced that he had called the press conference at the base of the mountain to symbolize the highest peak in CRIMSON history, creating synergy between nature’s grace, beauty and power, and the growing majesty of Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON as a whole! Mimura then announced that the final two competitors for the “ZION STRONGEST REVIVAL” match on the 27th would be announced, but that he was saving it for last…

Mimura then reached down beside himself, and brought out an unidentified object. Before revealing it, Mimura said that this object was the start of a new concept in not only Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON, but a first step towards the bridging all barriers between the various groups within Pro-Wrestling! With that, Mimura unfolded the object, revealing a banner. With a large smile on his face, Mimura showed off the banner which read:

PRO-WRESTLING CRIMSON
FUSION J-LEAGUE 2007
7/31 / 8/23”

Mimura revealed details on his new concept, by saying that this would be a NINE TEAM Junior Tag League to crown the first ever PWC Junior-Heavyweight Tag Champions! The PWC has officially sanctioned the creation of this title, and it would be exclusive to the BATTLE*FUSION concept! With that in mind, Mimura then revealed that every touring group in BATTLE*FUSION would field a team! Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON will field four teams due to hosting the tournament, but every group that regularly holds shows will have a representative team in an effort to win the titles! Mimura then pulled out a list of all the teams and began to read off thoughts which are summarized below:

Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON ~ Hayato Saigo & Keoni Murata: The “ace” of CRIMSON’s Juniors and his mentor form an incredibly powerful team. In the last year Saigo has evolved into one of the brightest Junior stars in Japan, while Murata has returned to the form he had when he won the C-1 Junior-Heavyweight Championship in 2002. They will be incredibly hard to beat!

Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON ~ Naoki Daishi & Akahito Yamada: “OVERTHROW” have become one of the most skillful, and feared junior combinations in CRIMSON. Daishi has peaked in his skills, and Yamada has been dying to show the Wrestling world the potential he once was branded as having. Daishi and Yamada have everything to win in this tournament!

Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON ~ Millennium S.K. & Ryoma Inoue: The former C-1 Junior-Heavyweight Champion and the newest member of his group have their chance to shine! S.K. has slumped lately, but he is still one of the few to have a direct pinfall victory over Shin Kaiju! Inoue has progressed remarkably since his “graduation” to S.K.’s faction, but this will be the biggest chance of his career!

Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON ~ HANZO & MUSASHI Tomizaki: The wildcard team from CRIMSON’s contingent. Tomizaki has the least experience of anyone in the tournament, but HANZO may have the most. If HANZO and Tomizaki can work together well, and it doesn’t just fall to HANZO to win matches, they might have a shot at pulling it off!

Pro-Wrestling FURY ~ Kotaro Ota & Fumihiko Shirai: The “OKINAWA SPEED STARS” being in the tournament is incredibly exciting! Ota and Shirai are both very young, but have progressed well and are on the cusp of greatness. In fact, Ota is a disciple of CRIMSON legend Hachiro Yakuta! The SPEED STARS could crash and burn, or pull off their biggest “level up” to date!

Superstar PRO ~ Saru Ito & SAKA Ibuchi: These two youngsters have everything to gain from this tournament! Two students of the legendary Jason Ramsey, their both very young and could pull out anything. Never count out two young wrestlers with nothing to lose!

Pro-Wrestling HERO ~ Minoru Nikaido & Wes Climer: Minoru Nikaido has “big match” experience from being in PROMO*JAPAN/Pro-Wrestling ZION and has the natural skillset to get things done! Mimura admitted he didn’t know much about Climer, but that these two could be the sleepers of the tournament!

BURNING PARADISE ~ Hans Watanabe & Fritz Takahashi: The Kamikaze Barons provide an interesting challenge for their opponents in the tournament! The Barons have a dastardly, evil, methodical style of wrestling that can take many an opponent off their game. Can they use this style to lead themselves to the PWC Jr. Tag Titles?!

FREEDOM ~ Shino Hiriyama & Kazuhiro Okamura: Possibly the strongest team in the entire tournament! Hiriyama & Okamura are the IFS Tag Champions in FREEDOM, and have more credentials as a top team then any other in the tournament! There is the added dimension that Hiriyama was once a Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON wrestler, and is a good friend with Katsumi Gakusha who is on a crusade against CRIMSON! Anything could happen here!

Mimura ended the tournament talk by saying that every team would have a “bye” day due to their being nine teams. Each team that has a bye day will NOT be booked by CRIMSON. If it’s an outsider team, the outsider promotion has full rights to use them on that day…CRIMSON wrestlers will simply take the time to rest up instead! Mimura also said that there were groups in BATTLE*FUSION that weren’t granted slots, like Maximum Japan Pro-Wrestling, but clarified that since the promotion didn’t tour, they didn’t qualify to have a strong champion…

Mimura then completely turned his attention to the 7/27’s ”ZION STRONGEST REVIVAL” match up. Mimura called this the “biggest outside participation match in CRIMSON history”, that Kazuma Fujita and Tatsumichi Akamatsu had already been announced. Mimura admitted that he had initially planned on putting CRIMSON wrestlers with the two ZION wrestlers, but has since changed the plan…Mimura once again reached down besides himself and found another banner. Mimura stated that he had spent time trying to arrange this match, and that he thinks this may be the biggest match currently possible given the climate…With a dramatic flare, Mimura revealed the banner!

7. CRIMSON Special Attraction Match ~ ZION STRONGEST REVIVAL: “Mr. 300%” Kazuma Fujita & “Tokyo Ace” Mitsuharu Nogami vs. Tatsumichi Akamatsu & Kengoro Sugamoto

The reveal received a shocked reaction from the press, while Mimura smiled proudly. Mimura said that he had been in negotiations with some of these wrestlers for “months”, and that it would be with THIS show, and THIS match along with Nomura/Iijima, that Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON ascended to the peak of the mountain to claim their goal!
