The 2009 FUSION J-LEAGUE tournament continued, making a stop at Niigata Phase. In a special singles bout, Makoto Saito and Shinsuke Takahashi went toe to toe for almost fifteen minutes, before the stoic Makoto Saito bested Takahashi with the Shiraku Blade. In tournament action, Yankizoku collided as RIOT WORLD of Ryoma Inoue & Keoni Murata faced off against Zetsubouzoku of BIG BOY Tomizaki and Ichiyo Tatsuko. As soon as the bell rang, Inoue & Murata pulled rank on their opponents, and forced them to give up the match. Much to the chagrin of Tomizaki & Tatsuko, they had no chance, and verbally submitted, giving their seniors the win...The second tournament match pitted the OKINAWA SPEED STARS of Hayato Saigo and Pro-Wrestling FURY's Fumihiko Shirai against the team of STRIKERS, Keiji Hirano & Superstar Pro's SAKA Ibuchi. The bout followed the same pattern as STRIKERS' last battle, as the SPEED STARS controlled 90% of the match, however, Hirano & Ibuchi stayed in the match with energy and heart alone. Their tenacity would pay off, as lightning quick, Shirai was suddenly bombarded by Hirano & Ibuchi, two Hirano Rockets and two Shining Wizards, giving the STRIKERS team another huge upset victory! In the main event, the PWC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions of PREDATORS continued to struggle against the elite opposition in the tournament, as a rebounding ShinoMura of Shino Hiriyama and Kazuhiro Okamura took them to task, ending with Okamura hitting Kuroki with the KO Cutter for the victory.
