[BATTLE FUSION] 7/23/09 ~ TOP OF THE GENERATIONS 1NIGHT

BATTLE FUSION presented its newest inter-promotional event from Korakuen Hall featuring a one night tag tournament with talent from six different promotions. All eight teams were invited to the ring before the show began for an opening ceremony, with each team being given a chance to speak before the tournament. Almost every team shared the same thoughts with some variation by wishing everyone else well, and stating how they were looking forward to the matches. However, ICHIMI's DOKUGA and Yasushi Ito broke the tradition, as DOKUGA gruffly declared that they would defeat all the "old men" and their "useless" partners in order to prove the strength of true indy pro-wrestling. This statement did not sit well with ICHIMI's first round opponents from Nansei in GALLEON and FALCON Hori, who attacked ICHIMI's participation in the tournament as the only "outsider" team in the event. However, DOKUGA brushed off GALLEON's comments, declaring that he does what he wants when he wants...The other comment that caused a stir, was Jason Ramsey declaring that the tournament was another chance to lure Kazuma Fujita into another singles match against him! The Tokyo fans reacted to Ramsey's comments, but Fujita's only reply was a stern stare...

Superstar PRO and BURNING PARADISE faced off in the first tournament match of the night with BURNING's YOKAI and Tanuki Gao getting the chance of a lifetime to take down the legendary Jason Ramsey. Gao and YOKAI impressed the Tokyo fans with fanciful displays of flying ability, trying to use their natural speed advantage to gain the victory. Kimura, who is in the very early stages of his career had difficulty keeping up with the speed of the BURNING PARADISE duo, but Kimura managed to avoid Gao's beautiful Shooting Star Press, and tag in the legend himself. Ramsey entered the ring, and went to work in systematic fashion. Instead of trying to keep up with YOKAI and Gao, Ramsey instead cut their speed as Ramsey targeted their legs with innovative mixed with classic attacks. In the end, after focusing on Gao for a lengthy period, Ramsey was able to lock Gao in the Figure-Four Leglock, forcing the masked junior to give up the ghost and tap out! Ramsey was ever the diplomat post match, as he praised Gao and YOKAI before telling them that on another day they may have won, but that today just wasn't their day...

The longest running team in the tournament of Pro-Wrestling FURY's Tetsuhisa NAKAI and freelancer Ryuugo Nagashima fought with Superstar PRO's Humano Kaito and Kozan Harada. While the Superstar PRO team was up to the challenge, and attacked their opponents with courage, there was a definite difference in overall strength between the teams. NAKAI and Nagashima using brute force waded right into battle, and while the Superstar PRO team did not go down without a fight, in the end they went down, as NAKAI spiked Kaito with the Devil Eruption right into Nagashima's R-Bracer for the three count fall, and advancement into the semi finals.

Hailed as the best match of the first round, two junior teams fought a heated engagement after their argument earlier in the show. Nansei Nihon's GALLEON and FALCON Hori fought with ICHIMI's DOKUGA and Yasushi Ito. From the opening bell, the ICHIMI team positioned themselves as the brutal heels. DOKUGA wasted no time establishing himself, using power moves and even a low blow very early in the match on GALLEON much to the displeasure of the Tokyo fans. However, the masked hero could not be kept down for long, as GALLEON brought his own comeback before bringing his younger partner FALCON Hori back into the match. In the end, despite their vicious ways, the ICHIMI team proved to be no match for the Nansei team, in particular GALLEON, who spiked Yasushi Ito with the Dividing Driver for the three count, earning some retribution for ICHIMI's earlier remarks and advancement into the semi finals!

The two largest promotions in BATTLEFUSION fought in the final opening round match of the tournament, with one promotion being removed from contention. "Mr. 300%" Kazuma Fujita brought his newest charge the awe inspiring "Greco Superman" Mamoru Sekishima to battle with Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON's Nobuyori Shimizu and former track star Shuji Kawashima. Fujita and Sekishima controlled early in the match, using their size and power advantage well. Both Kawashima and Shimizu had difficulty dealing with the sheer physical differences between their opponents and themselves. The FURY team targeted Nobuyori Shimizu, attempting to wear out the man often described as the "heart" of CRIMSON. However, no matter what the FURY team through at Shimizu, they could never get a submission or a three count. Fujita attempted to seal the match with his trademark Fujita Lariat. Fujita blasted Shimizu with the lariat, but to the shock and amazement of both the Tokyo fans and Fujita himself, Shimizu immediately pulled himself back to his feet while screaming in defiance! Fujita simply aimed for a second lariat, only to have Shimizu duck under, grab Fujita and dump Fujita on his head with the Tsuyosa German Suplex! Fujita pulled himself up to his feet nearly immediately, but Shimizu was waiting, as he grabbed Fujita and hoisted him up in the air for his most powerful move, the Thunder-Fire Powerbomb! Shimizu struggled under Fujita's size, which gave Fujita enough time to fight the hold and allow Sekishima to come in and save Fujita by yanking him down from Shimizu's shoulder. Sekishima then attempted to charge Shimizu, only to have Shimizu counter by throwing Sekishima through the ropes. All this built towards a striking battle between Fujita and Shimizu. It was clear that Fujita hit harder then Shimizu, however, Shimizu would take the dull thud of Fujita's elbows, and refused to fall regardless of the force and impact of the blows. As Shimizu strained to stay on his feet, the Tokyo crowd rallied behind Shimizu's display of determination and heart. Fujita finally felled Shimizu with a short-range Fujita Lariat, however Shimizu kicked out at 2.9, before almost leaping to his feet, desperately grabbing for the ropes frantically in an attempt to pull himself up to his feet. With Shimizu mortally wounded, Fujita tagged out to the 198 cm Mamoru Sekishima. However, before Sekishima could finish Shimizu off, Shimizu's wild flailing paid off as he tagged in Shuji Kawashima to bring in the two young men of their respective teams! However, the story wouldn't have a happy ending for the CRIMSON team, as despite the hot tag, Kawashima was quickly shown to be unable to do anything to Sekishima. None of Kawashima's signature attacks would dent the wall of power that stood in front of Kawashima, and Kawashima's own speed spelled his downfall. Kawashima hit the ropes at full gait using his speed to try and take Sekishima down, only to run full speed into a demolishing knee kick! Kawashima collapsed to the ground, only to eat a SECOND knee kick directly to the chest, giving the Pro-Wrestling FURY team the three count! Nobuyori Shimizu looked devastated at having fought so hard only to lose, but there was nothing he could do. Kazuma Fujita shook Shimizu's hand in a sign of respect before leaving the ring to prepare for his next match.

With four teams left in the tournament, the semi finals were next to be seen. Jason Ramsey and Atsushi Kimura had a difficult test for themselves as they took on the team of Tetsuhisa NAKAI and Ryuugo Nagashima. Kimura fought as hard as he could, but it was obvious from the very beginning that Kimura was having difficulty even fighting Ryuugo Nagashima and his advanced experience, let alone the massive power of Tetsuhisa NAKAI. Jason Ramsey took it upon himself to fight most of the match alone, taking on both NAKAI and Nagashima by himself. However, even the Superstar's powers have limits, as the combined strength of NAKAI and Nagashima began to wear Ramsey down as the match went on. The RED DRAGONS team took turns working over Ramsey, with the Tokyo fans calling out their support to "The Superstar" to no avail for several minutes, as the beating took place. However, Atsushi Kimura had finally pulled himself back together, and led the Tokyo fans in chants of Ramsey's name. As if responding to the wishes of the fans, Ramsey fought back before flooring Nagashima with an elbow and tagging out to the red-hot Kimura! Kimura charged into the ring filled with fire, and tore into both NAKAI and Nagashima using perfect basic pro-wrestling. Kimura knocked NAKAI out of the ring with a dropkick, before attempting to finish off Nagashima. However, in the confusion of the action while running the ropes, Nagashima blind tagged out to NAKAI, which allowed NAKAI to BURST into the ring at full speed, and decapitate Kimura with a lariat! Nagashima played his part by grabbing Ramsey by his legs, in a desperate attempt to hold the legend. With no partner to save him, Kimura was helpless as the brutal power of Tetsuhisa NAKAI slammed Kimura into the ground with the Devil Eruption for the three count! All four shook hands post-match in a gesture that earned them all a large round of applause from the crowd.

Undersized and outgunned, the Nansei Nihon team had a long road ahead of them in the second and final semi final of the tournament. However, the Nansei team of GALLEON and Falcon Hori weren't about to tuck their tails between their legs and whimper at the sight of their opponents, the always formidable "Mr. 300%" Kazuma Fujita, and the "Greco Superman" Mamoru Sekishima. In particular, GALLEON seemed to take an interest in Sekishima, and his abnormal size as he challenged Sekishima to several striking battles, as if trying to gauge Sekishima's power and abilities--sadly, GALLEON lost every single battle in brutal fashion. Kazuma Fujita worked the early portions of the match, allowing the smaller Nansei team to run circles around him, just to pop them when they would stop. At one point this happened literally, which was one of the few comedy spots of the night. Sekishima appeared to be in his element hurling the smaller wrestlers around, as he allowed his mentor Fujita time to rest. Sekishima had little in the way of maneuvers, but what he lacked in that department, Sekishima made up for sheer power. FALCON Hori attempted a springboard onto Sekishima, only to have Sekishima catch him in mid air, before HURLING Hori into the air, sending the junior in a wild freefall before crashing to the mat! GALLEON followed suit with his own springboard, only to have the same event happen to him as well. However, GALLEON displayed his own amazing abilities by managing to twist his body during the freefall, hooking Sekishima with his legs and threw Sekishima into the turnbuckle with a modified frankensteiner! Sekishima's head bashed into the turnbuckle, giving the Nansei team the opening they had fought for. However, GALLEON and Hori encountered another problem after wounding Sekishima: He was too large to do anything with. GALLEON attempted to hit one of his signature moves, only to be unable to lift all 120kg of Sekishima, allowing the young power fighter to fight back with brutal blows. Sekishima finally realized he could end the match, as he sized up GALLEON for one of his knee kicks, and charged, however GALLEON displayed his own talent for pro-wrestling, as he grabbed Sekishima's leg, hooked his head and turned all 120 kg of Sekishima over in an inside cradle! FALCON Hori EXPLODED from his corner with a running dropkick, knocking Fujita out of the ring, as the flash three count was rewarded to the Nansei team! The Korakuen Hall audience exploded as GALLEON celebrated the victory in joy, while a shocked Sekishima began to argue with the referee over the three count. However, Fujita managed to pacify the behemoth rookie, leading to all four shaking hands...GALLEON praised Sekishima to the highest order, giving him the highest marks in all categories, but then reminded the young Sekishima that there was more to pro-wrestling then sheer size and strength, a lesson Sekishima seemed to take to heart.

The teams eliminated from the first round came back for an eight man tag team match, as BURNING PARADISE's YOKAI and Tanuki Gao teams with Pro-Wrestling CRIMSON's Nobuyori Shimizu and Shuji Kawashima to take on the team of Humano Kaito and Kozan Harada from Superstar PRO along with ICHIMI's duo of DOKUGA and Yasushi Ito. All eight men tore into each other at a furious pace, with every wrestler getting a chance to shine in the spotlight. However, it was out the aerial abilities of Tanuki Gao that would gain the win, as he crushed Kozan Harada with the Shooting Star Press to get the three count, and a little redemption from the opening round! DOKUGA and Ito once again caused a stir on their way out, as they refused to shake the hands of the other wrestlers. The other six wrestlers led the crowd in jeering the ICHIMI team much to their displeasure...

Only one match remained, and that match would crown the winners of the TOP OF THE GENERATION 1NIGHT. Pro-Wrestling FURY's Tetsuhisa NAKAI and freelancer Ryuugo Nagashima faced off against the underdog junior team of GALLEON and his younger partner FALCON Hori. For Ryuugo Nagashima it was a form of a homecoming, as he faced off against two wrestlers from his former home promotion Nansei before being banished by Buntaro Sakata late last year. Ryuugo Nagashima took charge in the match, obviously feeling the importance of the match for both his team but also for his own personal desires, to prove how far he had come in nine months. GALLEON and FALCON Hori responded to the youth's desire, and gave him everything they had left after two hotly contested tournament matches. GALLEON and Nagashima had a thrilling exchange where Nagashima avoided GALLEON's Dividing Driver, but just second later, GALLEON avoided Nagashima's R-Bracer to the enjoyment of the fans as the two stood off in front of each other. Tetsuhisa NAKAI, fueled by personal conquest was at his most brutal against the two junior-heavyweights, as he quickly turned FALCON Hori's chest a deep shade of purple after brutal chops intended to cut off Hori's breathing. Hori's attempts at a comeback against the awesome power of NAKAI were simply and brutally put out of their misery. RED DRAGONS controlled the match, working over FALCON Hori for a long stretch of time, with NAKAI seeming to take some pleasure from stretching the young junior all around the ring in various shapes. However, FALCON refused to submit no matter what twisted shape NAKAI tore his body into, earning more and more respect from the Tokyo fans as the match wore on. NAKAI attempted to finish FALCON Hori off with the Devil Eruption, but FALCON managed to squirm his way out of the hold before diving to tag on the masked hero GALLEON! GALLEON entered like a whirlwind, throwing his body and limbs at anything that would move. NAKAI and GALLEON engaged in a high action exchange, as NAKAI tried to whack GALLEON with all his power, but GALLEON kept ducking and evading NAKAI's powerful chops and blows with expert grace much to the intense anger of NAKAI. When NAKAI tired from his assault, GALLEON sent the power fighter out of the ring with a dropkick, before throwing caution to the ring and diving over the ropes onto NAKAI! In the ring, Nagashima and FALCON Hori tore into each other in a surprisingly high level exchange, ending with FALCON Hori BLASTING Nagashima with his BLADE Kick, but couldn't score the three count due to being the illegal man. A wounded GALLEON tagged in the red hot FALCON Hori, who immediately BLASTED Nagashima with a second BLADE Kick, but once again was unable to gain the three count due to Nagashima being the illegal man. Tetsuhisa NAKAI came ROARING into the ring just like he had in the semi finals, throwing a vicious lariat, but FALCON Hori displayed his own abilities by DUCKING NAKAI's lariat, and throwing a BLADE Kick! However, NAKAI CAUGHT FALCON Hori's leg, gave Hori a shove sending the junior into the turnbuckle, and then CRUSHED Hori with a charging lariat! A wounded FALCON Hori stumbled out of the corner, as NAKAI took off into the ropes before coming off with an absolutely brutal Lariat, sending FALCON Hori spinning uncontrollably before crashing to the ground! NAKAI covered, but at 2.9, GALLEON resurrected by diving in the ring to break up the pinfall! GALLEON rolled off the two men and sat up, RIGHT INTO THE R-BRACER FROM NAGASHIMA! GALLEON's head snapped back, and Nagashima pulled GALLEON out of the ring and to the floor. NAKAI held up one arm, signifying another lariat, as FALCON Hori stood stunned. NAKAI charged FALCON and threw the lariat ONLY TO HAVE FALCON HORI GRAB IT AND ROLL NAKAI INTO A CRADLE! The Tokyo fans counted along but NAKAI kicked out at 2.9! FALCON climbed to his feet as fast as he could, but NAKAI beat him to his feet before giving Hori a short-range Lariat! FALCON collapsed on his neck, but NAKAI decided to put the final touch on the match, as he lifted the dead weight of FALCON Hori before giving him ANOTHER Short-Range Lariat, this time falling onto FALCON Hori and receiving the uncontested three count!

The Korakuen Hall audiences cheered heavily as RED DRAGONS pulled themselves to their feet, and were soon awarded trophies for their tournament victory. GALLEON put a positive spin on their loss, saying that they had the toughest road of any team but had come "this close" to pulling off the upset...In the ring, NAKAI took a house microphone, and began to rant, claiming that this was the final stage of his momentium, and that he would ride this wave to the 27th, and defeat C-1 Heavyweight Champion Akuma Toyota! As if on cue, Akuma Toyota wearing jeans and a black t-shirt (his formal wear...) rose from ringside and climbed into the ring. The two massive power fighters had an intense stare at each other, before Akuma Toyota congratulated Tetsuhisa NAKAI and Ryuugo Nagashima for their tournament victory, before telling NAKAI that he should "enjoy the feeling while it lasts" since he wouldn't be experiencing it on the 27th in Miyagi. Suddenly, without warning, Akuma Toyota gave NAKAI a VICIOUS slap directly to the face! NAKAI attempted to rush Toyota, but Nagashima held his mentor back, as Toyota was escorted out of the ring to some jeers from the crowd.
